A few days ago, when Tokyo still holding on to its late-autumn colours and a mild winter light, I went to the Oedo Antique Market — one of my favourite events in the city.

Sellers arrange their worlds in their own ways.
Some stalls barely hold more than a handful of items, but those few pieces are so precise that you stop without thinking.

Other stalls are filled to the edge, and inside that mix, something suddenly catches your eye.

Textures shaped by decades of use.
Objects resting somewhere between what has passed and what might come next, waiting for another role.
As you walk, fragments of someone’s life brush past — habits, tastes, stories worn down through years.
Maybe that is why this market stays with me: you notice those traces here.

Some days, simply watching how each seller curates their selection is enough.
There is a kind of discipline in their choices.
Not heavy, not loud, but firm in its own way.
You see it in their hands, in the way they place each object down.

On the way home, there is usually a small item in my bag, but not this day.
My curator friend visiting from Korea was with me, and watching her move through the stalls was its own kind of pleasure.
Nothing extravagant, but something that carries the air of that afternoon.
A different rhythm from the city.
An old feeling that might return again someday.

Our Sculpted Acetate Volume Ring on Saebyeok’s little hands.
Her purse, inherited from her grandmother, caught my eye.
If your time and timing align, I hope you’ll consider stopping by this magical place.
