Fortune’s Arc Cast Iron Horseshoe, Hearth Brown
Description
A traditional cast iron horseshoe, time-darkened to a deep hearth brown with traces of oxidised red along its inner curve.
Solid and weighty in hand, its surface bears the honest texture of forged iron — gently worn and resilient. Once fastened to a working horse, now destined for a different kind of protection!
In Britain and across much of Europe, a horseshoe hung inside the home — often above a doorway or within a cottage fireplace — is believed to invite good fortune and ward off misfortune. Some hang it with the ends pointing upward to “hold” luck like a vessel.
Others turn it downward to let blessings pour over those who enter.
However it is placed, it carries a story of guardianship.
This particular piece was passed from hand to hand, first given as a gift to its previous owner by a close friend — a gesture of enduring goodwill. It was brought back from England with the thought that even a small apartment in Asia deserves its own talisman :)
A fragment of countryside folklore, now ready to watch over a new threshold.
Solid cast iron. Natural aged patina. Wall-mountable.
Time-softened surface with gentle marks of age.
Weight: Pleasantly weighty in the hand!
